How do you delete video's?

The reason I am asking is because I deleted a bunch of video's in the backend administrator under the video's tab. It shows that they are all deleted they are no longer on the frontend or backend of the site but then I checked my files on the server and all of the video files are still there.

we purposely did that, because your end user may accident delete vidoe and may ask admin to retrieve it .... I guess a delete button has been left off ... sorry, we will have it back in the clean up section of admin in the next release rc2

No I deleted the video's from the backend not the frontend.
Is there any way to delete the video's? Surely there must be, all of the files on my server have strange names I would have to download them all watch them and compare them against all of the video's still on the site? that does not seem right.
