Hello,

I get a bad quality video for the sd convertion. The movie source I tested is mp4 , resolution: 960x540 and 5000 bitrate.

Here the beginning of the movie after conversion:



like that is for first 2 sec , then the quality is good.

The presets for converter are default.

Did I do something wrong?

Does it happen to the other player?
is ffmpeg and mencoder installed properly ?

it's not the player issue, I tested with both players, also downloaded the file and play on my computer, the same problem in the beginning of the movie.

I made also standalone ffmpeg encoding on my computer for the same video source and the quality was good, so the video source is ok.

I tested with other video joomla component then JVD on different joomla instalation but on the same server with the same convertors, the quality was good, so ffmpeg should be ok. I made convertion with ffmpeg , for mencoder didn't work.

On JVD are default convertor settings with mencoder, but I think if mencoder doesn't work JVD make automaticly convertion with ffmpeg?

can you try and upload it to demo.jvideodirect.com and see if its happen ...
i think is the codec for converters that causes the problem...

It looks that there is some problem with my ffmpeg or mencoder, but why it's works with diff coomponent?

The conversion on jvd demo was done with mencoder or with ffmpeg?

The quality looks perfect to me. None of the said problem in the 1st two second ...

We also use default settings for demo ...

I think you need to check you converters.
