I want to start another thread to report my problems here.

finally the installation of JVD worked for me. But now the questions I have is:

1. The fetch-it cannot fetch video title or description from youtube. And the fetched videos don't play at all.

2. The uploader works for me, but not the converter. I'm on a VPS, and I have installed FFMPEG, mencoder, mplayer, flvtool2, ffmpeg-php 0.6, and everything necessary. These modules work for me on another website using phpmotion.

But he converter of JVD simply doesn't work for me, the uploaded videos are put on status 'queue' all the time without any progress of conversion.

I'm using JVD 1.1 RC1a

I learned it from other thread that you had a very restrictive server.

Beside, converter that works for phpmotion, may not work with JVD if you need HD video to be available.

with your point 1, can you explain in details you process of adding video until you find out the issue.

yes, I built the VPS server by myself - software wise, maybe it's more restrictive than those come with CPanel.

1. I copied a youtube video link, and paste it in the fetch-it field, clicked on the fetch button ---> a window comes up showing the title, description, tags, etc. I got a problem here: the title and description both show "unknown".

After I submit the video, I got more problems:
a. the video status at the backend shows "fetch_link_failed".
b. the video shows as 'not approved' at the backend, even though I already configured JVD to approve every video submitted.
c. The video uploader works very well, however, the uploaded videos don't get converted to FLV format, and the status shows 'queque' all the time. - I am 100% sure FFMPEG, Mencoder, mplayer, etc all have been installed successfully.

So, that's all my problem with JVD 1.1 rc1b. I am not sure how to solve the problems - I've tried everything ethan suggested: like the permission, ownership of directories. Nothing works so far

can you show a screenshot of the page that shows "unknown".

Have you disabled any functions in PHP.ini
