This is my first post here. I just bought and installed the jVideoDirect and couldn't be happier. Here is my one question so far: How can I get Youtube videos to download and encode on my server?

I operate a school website and we block youtube from classrooms. It would be really nice if teachers could plop the youtube URL in jVideo and then jVideo grabs and encodes the youtube video.

Is this possible?

Oh yeah... is it possible to add teachertube.com as a supported fetch plugin?

Welcome to jvideodirect,
Youtube only allow video embedding. It is possible to download to server but we don't allow to do it, sorry.

With Teachertube, you can submit a ticket via support center -> professional services.
They do customization and development for site specific task.

Chrisin school just simply unblock them using proxy sites like from proxy-zone.net lol

Proxy sites may work for a day, but our filtering software is generally pretty quick to block them.

Is it possible to download Youtube videos yet?

downloading from youtube site is prohibited
