Fetch to non-youtube links - my own host 2 Years, 1 Month ago Karma: 0
Hi,

is it possible to fetch videos from a non-youtube/google videos link?

I have videos hosted at Fliqz and would like to use jvideo to display them.

Thanks all

no sure how Fliqz works. but if you have access to the physical via url. You can import them via backend import tools (remote server link)

I have access to permalinks and embedded code. perm links look like

www.fliqz.com/aspx/permalink.aspx?vid=9a...429a98501d180a4847d8

and

embeded- <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11CF-96B8-444553540000" codebase="download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/ca...sion=9,0,115,0" id="player" width="432" height="295"><param name="movie" value="applications.fliqz.com/9a628e9536eb429a98501d180a4847d8.swf" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="wmode" value="transparent" /><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /><embed name="player" src="applications.fliqz.com/9a628e9536eb429a9...180a4847d8.swf" width="432" height="295" allowfullscreen="true" wmode="transparent" allowscriptaccess="always" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer&quo...d></object>

could you provide a template to the csv file?

Thank you

of course, to import remote video in the backend you need the url pointing to the physical file.

to fetch from 3rd party site in the frontend, you need a fetcher plugin.

your url linked to an embedded video file. It doesn't work like this.

What would be great, is to allow the user to input the direct location of the FLV in the frontend of the site.

Once the file is downloaded to the local server, the pop-up should appear that allows you to input your own information without the requirement of a CSV file.

Adding the layer of CSV is too much extra work every time you want to add a new video.

Can this be done through the plug-ins? All we need in the plug-in is a fetch url and allow whatever file types our servers can process, nothing more.

I think that if you do this, you will have the best video solution for Joomla. I have written a file that I added into HWDVideoShare that allowed me to download the file to the server into the uploads directory, then I had HWDVideoShare process the file. It works great.
