Can't upload videos, front or backend 2 Years, 2 Months ago

I am having a terrible time getting any videos uploaded either in the front or back end. I am on a shared server, using Fetch Link only.
Getting the backend working is more critical to my situation, then getting the front end working, but I thought it might provide a clue.
On the front end, if I try to get a Youtube video, it acts like it is loading, but never finishes. There is no error message.
On the backend, I've tried both Manual and Remote Upload. It looks like everything has worked, but when I go to check it in Preview, I get the error "No video in this tag." I've tried refreshing the browser, but that doesn't help either.
I have the videos converted to flv and uploaded to the server with the path
home/"domain"/public_html/images/stories/videos
I have the xls spreadsheet filled out and converted to csv.
I have no idea what is wrong - can you help?
Is there any limitation on the file name for the flv's? Length, using spaces, etc.?

I suggest you get the frondend working first.
once frontend is working, the rest is good.
1. I need you to make sure you are using the latest version 1.1 RC1C
2. go through this guide
jvideodirect.com/forum/18-installation-a...ck-installation-note
test it in the front end.
please let us know the result

Hi, I've tried all of your instructions. The result is that the video says it's successful in the upload box (front end), but when you go to look at it, it still says No Video in this Tag. I also tried refreshing the browser, just in case, but that didn't help.

are you uploading video from desktop ?
you need to first get the tester running in the backend.
in the front "No Video in this Tag", it is related to "featured" video. you need to mark video as "featured" to e shown, how about the others "popular, recent ..."

I'm confused because originally you said to get the it working in the front end first. Now you're saying back end first?
In any case, neither one is working.
In the front end, I'm uploading a Youtube video. In the back end I have a number of already converted flv files on the server along with some thumbnails. They are in home/username/public_html/images/stories/videos.
The only thing I am getting from my desktop is the the csv file.
I'm using shared hosting from Hostmonster, if that's any help.
On the front end, under the JVideo Direct menu item, it says No Video in this tag for every item such as Featured, Recent, Popular, etc. I don't have any groups or channels set up so those say No Group in this Tag and No Channel in This Tag. I do have 3 categories set up which do appear. When you click on those, you get the same No Video in This Tag for every item.

there are two types of upload ...
if you need to upload from a desktop, you need to get the converter running, then backend tester is the right tool.
otherwise, get frontend wokring first ...
if you are on shared hosting (hostmonster), just installed it, and follow instruction of directory-permission in this forum/howtos and you should be fine.
can you fetch video ?

No, I can't fetch video, such as from Youtube. It says it works then I go to look at it, and it's not there.
I did all the stuff with the directory perms and it's not working.
