I am having an issue using the Perl UberUploader on my test site. After I enter all the video information and select my file to upload, I receive the following error:

'ERROR: Failed to find flength file'

The video does not upload.

My ubr_upload.pl path is correct in the configuration (/cgi-bin/ubr_upload.pl)

I followed the link that the error message gave me and tried inserting the suggested code into my .htaccess file. This did not work. Just in case, I created a new .htaccess file in my /cgi-bin with the same suggested code and this did not work either.

I have been working with my webhost (liquid web) on the issue and they seem to be stumped. Their initial response was:

"Sometimes cpanel will over write anything you put in the apache configuration
file if it isnt distilled.

Seems like this is a rule so that it will bypass the mod security.

If this is the case I could try a different approach by added a security rule
to mod security to allow this to run."

They tinkered with this, but had no luck.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do? Or what I can suggest to my webhost?


Also, I tried using the Flash- Uploadify method. When I go to upload a video the progress bar shoots almost immediately to 100% (for a 40mb .wmv file) and the video does not actually upload.

I have not yet tried the php/ajax option, as I do not want to use that.

uber-uploader sometimes is very tricky to setup.
Different environment as different setup.
I am guessing you are using suexec.
the main issue was the permission of it's tmp file.

We do have a service to setup uber-uploader by our professional services team.
