after putting in the security update i get the following

also in the backend i get

the security patch doesn't give you this error,

and line 1 of /administrator/components/com_jvideodirect/admin.jvideodirect.php is
<?php

have you patched the wrong file.

no havent patched the wrong file and yes it was the security patch as everything was working fine until i uploaded the security patch

the patch only change getvar to getword.

and it only affect jvd's functions call.

it doesn't produce those errors from com_community.
