I'd just like to toss it out there that if the component and modules could be converted to use MooTools, that would be VERY helpful.

Using the Joomla standard would greatly enhance the performance and eliminate half of the issues I see in reading your forums. Most issues and responses I see stem from multiple JS files loaded and the response is to toggle jQuery.conflict settings.

Just a suggestion if you had someone who wanted to pour through hundreds of lines of code and spend countless hours testing !!!

True, back to version 1.0 our very first release.
We mainly used mootools.
When we started to throw more features and effects into it, jquery seems to be the one we are looking for.
We made the decision to use jquery jvideodirect wide.
issues on specific site can be resolved but features are either you have it or not.
I hope you understand what i am saying.

I do understand. Sometimes you need the right tool for the job and JQuery fit the needs of your product.

I need some help getting jVideo Direct to work on my site. I am using rockettheme and whenever I toggle the jquery.noconflict setting, it either works for the main component page and breaks any other page a module is placed, or it will work on any other page and not on the main component page. It seems to be the order in which the JS libraries are loaded. I have posted about it here and can't seem to get a workable answer to fixing this.

does
changing "true" to "false" in below statement work for you?

$js = ($init->loadjqnoconflict == true) ? "jQuery.noConflict();" : "";
