Since the core component is constantly being updated, it would be nice to let Joomla keep the jVD menu items upon uninstallation. This way, we won't have to re-build our menu each time we want to update the component to the latest version.

Of course I'm not a joomla expert and I don't know if this is possible...

We know this is a problem,
there are only 3 options
1. leave menu for users to add manually.
2. we build a new one when install.
3. We will provide upgrade package where only specific files needed to be replaced ... we are getting there.

When we have stabilized the core item 3 will be used.
Since release of version 1.1 rc2, we don't received any fault report on the core.
After the next release, we should be able to use Item 3 method.
